Sydney Mines, Nova Scotia, is an urban community within the Cape Breton regional municipality. It is located on the north side of Sydney Harbour, 19km from Sydney. The town has a vibrant downtown shopping area with grocery stores, pharmacy, bakery, banks, restaurants, service stations, town police and library. Sydney Mines is also the home of Johnny Miles, the double Boston Marathon winner. (1926 & 1929)
